Before The Cross Of Calvary (I Have A House And Land In Kent, 6 Verses, Acoustic)

Before The Cross Of Calvary : Lyrics

A hymn for Maundy Thursday.

1. Before the cross of Calvary,
Jesus went to Gethsemane
For prayer, solitude and rest;
When His agony took the test,
Jesus prayed in Gethsemane.
Three times, He prayed for you and me.

2. From joyous supper with His friends,
He descended to dreadful ends
Stirred inside the brimming Cup:
God’s wrath upon humanity.
‘Come keep watch, and pray with me’,
He uttered in Gethsemane.

3. Distressed, depressed and squeezed and pressed
Cup’s contents crushed all human sense,
He fell grounded fac-down, anguished:
‘Abba! save me from this hour!’
‘Come keep watch, and pray with me.’
He uttered to the inner three!

4. Sore and overwhelmed with sorrow,
Temptation shot a straight arrow
To shun the cup of destiny;
Jesus submitted to God’s will!
‘Come keep watch, and pray with me.’
He uttered to the inner three!

5. Deeper and deeper prayer with tears,
Jesus cried in His Father’s ears!
The Abba heard, and ministered;
Charged boldness cried, ‘Thy will be done!’
Three times, he prayed for you and me
In the garden of Gethsemane!

6. No empathy from His best friends,
Alone, He paid the penalty,
Down to the dregs, for you and me;
Jesus switched the Cup of Calvary
For Salvation’s Cup, full and free,
Blessings, thanksgiving, victory!

For Every Blade Of Bright Green Grass (Green Grass – 5 Verses) – Piano Ensemble

For Every Blade Of Bright Green Grass Lyrics

For every blade of bright green grass,
For every petal of each flower,
For every leaf on every tree,
We thank you Lord God, Almighty.

For each raindrop, each wet shower,
That falls on dusty, parchèd earth,
And nourishes the fertile loam,
And sprouts up shoots with growing power.

For every seed of every plant,
That multiplies its sacred kind,
For sweetest fruit of yielding tree,
We thank you Lord God, Almighty.

For every species of each herb,
That seasons up our fractured whole,
And soothes and calms like Gilead’s balm,
And heals the mind, body and soul.

For Nature’s generosity
Sustaining all createdkind,
Your gift of Omni love divine,
We thank you Lord God, Almighty.

I Am Shaking : Lyrics

Meter 87 87 D.

1. I’m shaking, shaking, shaking
Up the Heaven and the Earth;
There’s a falling, falling, falling
Like the world has never seen!
And the world is shaking, shaking,
By the mighty hand of God,
That is writing, writing, writing
All our deeds upon the wall.

2. Hope is standing in the rubble
Of the shaking, shaking, shake
Witnessing the stripping, stripping
Of the multi-layers of fake;
And the hand of God is writing
All our deeds upon the wall
While powerful knees are bending
To the greatest ONE of all!

3. Hope takes comfort in the shaking
Of the structures of the world!
There is beauty in destruction:
Stripping, falling, stripping stripped
To reclaim, rebuild, and restore
The Kingdom of our Maker,
Who can never, never falter
Our Creator, Redeemer!

Lead Us Father Gently (Foliat House, Piano Ensemble, 3 Verses)

Lead Us Father Gently : Lyrics

Lead us, Father, gently lead us
From all empty pride;
Save us, Lord, from sole ambition,
Let us follow Your direction.

Lead us, Father, gently lead us
From a mere foothill
Of our predestined vocation,
According to Your precious will.

Lead us, Father, gently lead us
By Thy light divine;
Protect us from sin’s destruction,
Guide us by Your true reflection.
