O God of Bethel, by whose hand (Martyrdom)

O God of Bethel, by whose hand – Lyrics

O God of Bethel, by Whose hand
Thy people still are fed,
Who through this weary pilgrimage
Hast all our fathers led.

Our vows, our prayers, we now present
Before Thy throne of grace;
God of our forebears, be the God
Of their succeeding race.

Through each mysterious path of life
Our wandering footsteps guide;
Give us each day our daily bread,
And raiment fit provide.

O spread Thy covering wings around
Till all our wanderings cease,
And at our Father’s loved abode
Our souls arrive in peace.

As Pants The Hart For Cooling Streams (Martyrdom – 4 Verses) – Organ

As Pants The Hart For Cooling Streams ~ Lyrics

As pants the hart for cooling streams,
When heated in the chase,
So longs my soul, O God, for Thee
And Thy refreshing grace.

For Thee, my God, the living God,
My thirsty soul doth pine;
O, when shall I behold Thy face,
Thou majesty divine?

Why restless, why cast down, my soul?
Hope still; and thou shalt sing
The praise of Him who is thy God,
Thy health’s eternal spring.

To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
The God whom we adore,
Be glory as it was, is now,
And shall be evermore.

Meter: CM. Lyrics from Psalm 42 in New Version Publisher: Tate and Brady (1696)
