Tobias Clausnitzer (1619-1684)
Tobias Clausnitzer (1619-1684) was a German clergyman born in Thum, near Annaberg, in Saxony. He graduated at the University of Leipzig in 1643 and was appointed chaplain to a Swedish regiment in 1644, preaching at St. Thomas’s Church, Leipzig. After the Peace of Westphalia in 1649 he was appointed first pastor at Weiden, and remained there until his death.
