Lewis Edson (1748-1820)

Lewis Edson (1748-1820) was an American composer and singer born in Woodstock, New York). His working life started with being a blacksmith, but was a notable singer and soon became a singing master.

His 35 works consist of tune books, anthems, Psalm music, music scores and chants for choir use.

His most popular compositions were Bridgewater, Lenox and Green Field and were published in 1782 in the “Choristers Companion”.
