Away In A Manger : Lyrics
1. Away in a manger, no crib for His bed,
The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head.
The stars in the bright sky looked down where He lay,
The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay.
2. The cattle are lowing, the Baby awakes,
But little Lord Jesus no crying He makes.
I love Thee, Lord Jesus! Look down from the sky
And stay by my side until morning is nigh.
3. Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever and love me I pray.
Bless all the dear children, in Thy tender care,
And fit us for heaven, to live with Thee there.
- Lyricist: William James Kirkpatrick (1838-1921). Public Domain.

Thank you so much for your downloadable music for church services. They are so valuable to our aging congregation which has lost one organist who has gone to join God recently and another who has had a stroke, leaving us with one.
I have just discovered that some hymns have videos attached. I am careful not to use YouTube clips which contravene copyright and wonder if these clips have permission for use in a church setting? It seems to me that they would, seeing as how they are included in the listings but I would like to be sure.
In Christ,
Lyn
Dear Lyn,
Thank you for your message and I am sorry for the delay getting back to you on this. I can confirm the YouTube hymn videos published under “Richard Irwin”, “Richard Irwin – Topic” and “Richard M S Irwin – Topic” are suitable for use in worship in the same way as the downloadable MP3s from Hymns Without Words, so please feel free to use these. (If you have any problems using these, please let me know.)
There are also some other YouTube channels kindly collating Richard’s hymns into videos, and if you are wanting to use these videos I would recommend contacting the channel owner directly to make sure they are happy with this.
I am so glad that Hymns Without Words is helping support your church.
Best wishes to you and all your congregation,
Joe – Hymns Without Words
