St James The Just

St James the Just (d. 62 CE), also called James Adelphos and James the Brother of Our Lord was one of the original twelve apostles and the first Bishop of Jerusalem. According to the Protoevangelion of James, James was the son of Joseph, one of a number of the brethren of the Lord mentioned in the Gospels from a previous marriage prior to his betrothal to Jesus Mother Mary. He wrote an epistle which is part of the New Testament.
