Ray Palmer (1880 – 1887)

Ray Palmer (1880 – 1887) was an American preacher, poet and hymnist born in Little Compton, Rhode Island.

Educated at Yale College, he was ordained in 1835 and was appointed pastor in Congregational churches in Bath, Maine (1835 – 1850), and Albany, New York (1850 – 1865).

Palmer published several volumes of poetry and hymns, including:

• Hymns and Sacred Pieces (1865)
• Hymns of My Holy Hours (1868)
