John Bernard Wilkes (1785-1869)
John Bernard Wilkes (1785-1869) was an English organist and composer. Wilkes studied at the Royal Academy of Music (1842–46), then became organist at Monkland church, near Leominster (1860), then later at St. David’s, Merthyr Tydfil and Llandaff Cathedral (1861–65). He also contributed to the first edition of Hymns Ancient and Modern.
