John Arlott (1914 – 1991)

(Leslie Thomas) John Arlott (1914 – 1991) was an English writer, poet and broadcaster, born in Basingstoke, Hampshire.  He is mainly remembered for his long career as a cricket commentator for the BBC.  His hymns were published in the BBC Hymn Book of 1951.
