Frederick Luke Wiseman (1858 – 1944)
Dr Frederick Luke Wiseman (1858 – 1944) was a English Methodist Minister, born at York, the son of Luke H. Wiseman. He ministered in Birmingham and London, including at Westminster Central Hall and in the last four years of his life, at Wesley’s Chapel, London.
Wiseman had a keen interest in hymnody and served as Chairman of the committee preparing the 1933 Methodist Hymn Book, which included eleven tunes of his own.
