Edmund Prys (1544-1623)
Edmund Prys (1544-1623) was a Welsh poet and Archdeacon of Merioneth who assisted Bishop William Morgan (1545-1604) in the work of translating the Bible into Welsh. The tradition that Prys translated the Psalms is possibly incorrect and it is more probable that he helped by proof reading the translations of bishop Morgan. In 1621 he published Salmau Cân, which were printed in London and published together with the Book of Common Prayer.
