Charles Hutchinson (1792 – 1860) was a merchant and composer born in Glasgow, Scotland. He was a member of St. George’s parish church and as an amateur composer helped founded the Glasgow Diletanti Society. He published an essay on church music, and a number of hymn his hymn tunes appeared in Christian Vespers (1832).
