Hail Thou Once Despisèd Jesus (Lux Eoi, Organ, 4 Verses)

Hail Thou Once Despisèd Jesus : Lyrics

1. Hail, thou once despised Jesus!
Hail, thou Galilean King!
Thou didst suffer to release us,
Thou didst free salvation bring.
Hail, thou agonizing Saviour,
Bearer of our sin and shame!
By thy merits we find favour,
Life is given thro’ thy name.

2. Paschal Lamb, by God appointed,
All our sins were on thee laid;
By almighty love anointed,
Thou hast full atonement made.
All thy people are forgiven,
Through the virtue of thy blood;
Opened is the gate of heaven,
Peace is made ‘twixt man and God.

3. Jesus, hail! enthroned in glory,
There forever to abide;
All the heav’nly hosts adore thee,
Seated at thy Father’s side.
There for sinners thou art pleading,
There thou dost our place prepare;
Ever for us interceding,
‘Til in glory we appear.

4 Worship, honour, pow’r, and blessing,
Thou art worthy to receive;
Loudest praises, without ceasing,
Meet it is for us to give.
Help, ye bright angelic spirits,
Bring your sweetest, noblest lays;
Help to sing our Saviour’s merits,
Help to chant Immanuel’s praise.

Come Ye Faithful Raise The Strain (Ave Virgo Virginum, Organ, 4 Verses)

Come Ye Faithful Raise The Strain : Lyrics

1. Come, ye faithful, raise the strain
of triumphant gladness!
God hath brought his Israel
into joy from sadness;
loosed from Pharaoh’s bitter yoke
Jacob’s sons and daughters;
led them with unmoistened foot
through the Red Sea waters.

2. ‘Tis the spring of souls to-day;
Christ hath burst his prison,
and from three days’ sleep in death
as a sun hath risen:
all the winter of our sins,
long and dark, is flying
from his light, to whom we give
laud and praise undying.

3. Now the queen of seasons, bright
with the day of splendour,
with the royal feast of feasts,
comes its joy to render;
comes to glad Jerusalem,
who with true affection
welcomes in unwearied strains
Jesu’s resurrection.

4. Alleluia now we cry
to our King immortal,
who triumphant burst the bars
of the tomb’s dark portal;
Alleluia, with the Son
God the Father praising;
Alleluia yet again
to the Spirit raising.

This Is The Day The Lord Has Made (Billing, Organ, 5 Verses)

This Is The Day The Lord Has Made : Lyrics

1. This is the day the Lord has made;
He calls the hours His own;
Let heav’n rejoice, let earth be glad,
And praise surround the throne.

2. Today he rose and left the dead,
And Satan’s empire fell;
Today the saints His triumphs spread,
And all His wonders tell.

3. Hosanna to th’anointed King,
To David’s holy Son.
Help us, O LORD, descend and bring
Salvation from Your throne.

4. Blest be the Lord, who comes to us
With messages of grace;
Who comes, in God His Father’s name,
To save our sinful race.

5. Hosanna in the highest strains
The Church on Earth can raise;
The highest leav’ns in which He reigns
Shall give him nobler praise.

Dearest Jesu We Are Here (Liebster Jesu, Organ, 2 Verses)

Dearest Jesu We Are Here : Lyrics

1. Dearest Jesu, we are here,
At thy call, thy presence owning;
Pleading now in holy fear
That great sacrifice atoning:
Word incarnate, much in wonder
On this mystery deep we ponder.

2. Jesu, strong to save — the same
Yesterday, today, for ever —
Make us fear and love thy name,
Serving thee with best endeavour:
In this life, O ne’er forsake us,
But to bliss hereafter take us.

Lord We Humbly Bow (Piano and Flute, 3 Verses)

Lord We Humbly Bow : Lyrics

Lord, we humbly bow in awe of You,
And we kneel in joy before your Throne,
We can hear the choirs of angels sing,
As creation worships You alone.
So with joy we will sing,
We will praise Your name,
And we will bow low on bended knee;
We will sing songs of praise,
We will worship You,
We will praise You for setting us free!

We’ll proclaim You Saviour, Lord and King,
We will worship You as hands we raise;
Give You glory on the mountain top,
Singing songs of eve-lasting praise.
Refrain.

‘Til we lay our worship at Your feet,
And in heav’n our songs of joy we sing,
We will serve You here on Earth below,
And proclaim You our Saviour and King!
Refrain.

We Walk By Faith And Not By Sight (Beati Immaculati, Organ, 5 Verses)

 We Walk By Faith And Not By Sight : Lyrics

This recording of has been made to accompany singers in Church Services.

1. We walk by faith, and not by sight;
No gracious words we hear
From one who spoke as none e’er spoke,
But we believe him near.

2. We may not touch his hands and side,
Nor follow where he trod,
Yet in his promise we rejoice,
And cry, “My Lord and God!”

3. Help then, O Lord, our unbelief,
And may our faith abound
To call on you when you are near,
And seek where you are found:

4. that when our life of faith is done,
In realms of clearer light
We may behold you as you are
In full and endless sight.

5. We walk by faith, and not by sight;
no gracious words we hear
from one who spoke as none e’er spoke,
but we believe him near.

The Spacious Firmament On High (London, Organ, 3 Verses)

The Spacious Firmament: Lyrics

1. The spacious firmament on high,
With all the blue ethereal sky,
And spangled heavens, a shining frame,
Their great Original proclaim.
The unwearied sun from day to day
Does his Creator’s power display,
And publishes to every land
The work of an almighty hand.

2. Soon as the evening shades prevail
The moon takes up the wondrous tale,
And nightly to the listening earth
Repeats the story of her birth;
Whilst all the stars that round her burn,
And all the planets in their turn,
Confirm the tidings, as they roll,
And spread the truth from pole to pole.

3. What though in solemn silence all
Move round the dark terrestrial ball;
What though nor real voice nor sound
Amid their radiant orbs be found;
In reason’s ear they all rejoice,
And utter forth a glorious voice,
For ever singing as they shine,
‘The hand that made us is divine.’

Meter DLM. Lyrics: Joseph Addison (1672 – 1719). Public Domain.
