A New Commandment Lyrics
A new commandment I give unto you:
That you love one another as I have loved you.
That you love one another as I have loved you.
By this shall all men know that you are My disciples
If you have love one for another.
By this shall all men know that you are My disciples
If you have love one for another. Refrain
Love is patient and love is full of kindness.
Do not envy others, never be boastful.
Love is patient and love is full of kindness.
Do not envy others, never be boastful. Refrain
Protect your love with charity and goodness,
Do not be proud or self-seeking.
Protect your love with charity and goodness,
Do not be proud or self-seeking. Refrain
Delight in the love of truth, but not dishonour.
While time goes by love never fails you.
Delight in the love of truth, but not dishonour.
While time goes by love never fails you. Refrain

Gospel Of St John 13:34-35
I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.’
Letters of St Paul – 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end.
